Solid Staff members return for another successful
Holiday Camp ! |
|
- Hot Shots Hockey
School is proud to announce the return of our solid staff members! We have a
family of highly experienced instructors that not only have a vast knowledge of
the game, but are certified teachers as well. Corey Lucas, Todd Houston and
Jeff Street, are just some of the fantastic staff members we are excited to be
bringing back for another Holiday Camp. From Jeff’s vast knowledge of off-ice
training activities, to Corey and Todd's wealth of knowledge about the game of
hockey, our staff will provide your child with the most opportunities for
success. |
|
Dry-Land Training Program ! |
|
- Our off-ice training is geared toward athletes of all ages. An
athlete's movement efficiency depends on the ability to maintain and
regain balance when challenged. The game of hockey consists of many
unpredictable situations. Therefore it is necessary for young athletes
to participate in this type of training as they are still in the process
of learning and perfecting motor skills.
Three Main Goals
1. Improve balance and coordination
2. Instill proper training skills without doing weight
training activities
3. Improve technique of movement patterns

Coaches Corner ! |
|
-
The 2009 - 2010 year was an exciting season for Corey Lucas. This was Corey's
second year as a Head Coach in the G.T.H.L. (extending
his experience to 4 years). In addition to being the head coach of the Toronto
Penguins, Corey took on the assistant coaching position with the "AAA" North
York Rangers. Both teams had some ups and downs, but on the whole the children
had a wonderful experience learning new hockey skills and the value of teamwork.
Unfortunately, the Penguins missed the playoffs, but have entered the King
Clancy tournament where they are one of the favourites to win. The Rangers
unfortunately lost in the first round of playoffs to the number one seeded team.
Al of these individual showed determination and teamwork.
Well, another hockey season is upon us, and from Corey Lucas and everyone
here at Hot Shots Hockey School, we would like to wish you all the best with
your season. "Practice Like a Pro, Train Like a Pro, Play Like a
Pro."
